Kewaskum, Wisconsin, May 28, 2014: Jesse Kremer, one of four candidates in the 59th Assembly Republican primary, released a comprehensive “Blueprint for Education Reform in Wisconsin” on Wednesday evening at the Common Sense Citizens of Washington County meeting. Intended as a forum to meet all four candidates, Kremer used the platform to launch his plan and blaze a trail with his campaign slogan “Bold Ideas…Conservative Values.”

The “Blueprint” includes eleven bold ideas to strip education from the clutches of the federal government and set it firmly back in the hands of parents, local school boards, and teachers – individuals who are closest to our children and their needs. Kremer stated that outcome based education and “teaching to the test” began under President Bush with “No Child Left Behind” and continues to plow forward with “Common Core”, a set of federal standards and social experiments designed not by teachers, but by bureaucrats. The “Common Core” standards include cookie cutter teaching methods, teaching to pass tests, and intrusive data collection from our children and families. “It may seem innocent right now, said Kremer, “but New York and Florida are years ahead of us…and New York is screaming to opt out.”

Kremer designed the plan with with the assistance of three experts including Mr. Brian Medved of the Germantown School Board, the only district in the state to abandon Common Core and write their own standards, Ms. Karen Schroeder, President of Advocates for Academic Freedom, and Dr. Duke Pesta, English Professor at UW Oshkosh and Director of FreedomProject Education.
